Show Notes

In this episode of 'The Act of Coaching,' host Phil Askew sits down with Paige Carstensen, a former educator and leader specializing in educational equity, neurodiversity, and disability justice. They discuss Paige's journey into coaching, her focus on working with educators and individuals in transitional phases, and the impact of her coaching on their lives. The conversation delves into the distinctions between coaching and other supportive roles, the importance of certified training, and the profound effect of coaching on personal relationships. They also explore Paige's future aspirations for her coaching practice, particularly in supporting neurodiverse individuals and women in significant life transitions. My name is Paige Carstensen (she/her) and I am a certified leadership and development coach, former educator, and forever learner with a specialization in educational equity and disability justice. I care deeply that values-driven visionaries are supported to find and follow their next right paths, and my own experience living in a neurodiverse brain uniquely positions me to support educators of disabilities and folks who have disabilities themselves. I am the CEO and Founder of Luminal Development, LLC. In my business, I stand alongside organizations and individuals in the liminal space – that painful, beautiful moment of possibility between a past that’s clearly over and a future that’s still uncertain. My coaching, consulting, and workshop offerings shine a lot on the path forward, to the luminosity that’s next. I hold a coaching certification from Brown University School of Professional Development, a Masters in Special Education from Hunter College and a BS in communications from Ithaca College. I have 15 years of experience working as a leadership coach, consultant to non-profit organizations (especially schools) and as a workshop and group facilitator.
