The Leadership Equation: Understanding the Variables at Play October 7, 2026
12pm - 1pm ET
An interactive master class, led by Mike Hutchins PCC, introducing a new framework for understanding the forces that shape leadership performance.
Most leadership development focuses on what leaders should do. But what shapes how leaders show up in the moments that matter?
In this interactive master class, Mike Hutchins, co-founder of ACT Leadership and author of the forthcoming “The Leadership Equation”, will introduce a new framework for understanding the forces that shape leadership performance.
Rather than focusing on a single trait or set of behaviors, “The Leadership Equation” invites leaders to examine the variables already at play — from the context around them and who they have learned to be, to how they show up, the impact they create and what gives them energy and purpose.
Through examples and reflection, Mike will explore how these variables interact and how greater awareness can create more choice in how leaders respond to the situations, relationships and challenges they encounter every day.
The ability to notice what is happening within ourselves, in others and in the situation before choosing how to respond is also central to a Leader as Coach approach.
The session will conclude with an introduction to ACT Leadership and Brown University’s Leader as Coach program for those interested in developing these capabilities further.
